I have an Ethereal capture file that I forwarded to rwalton as requested in a previous post from a volunteer developer, John McCloud VII, in post 138737. Is there somewhere else that I should send it? |

Paul, maybe you have this incident covered from before? 2005-07-22 08:49:47 [---] Starting BOINC client version 4.45 for windows_intelx86 2005-07-22 08:49:47 [---] Data directory: C:\Program Files\BOINC 2005-07-22 08:49:47 [SETI@home] Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform 2005-07-22 08:49:47 [---] Can't parse result in state file 2005-07-22 08:49:47 [---] State file has different major version (0.00); resetting projects 2005-07-22 08:49:48 [SETI@home] Resetting project |

Paul, maybe you have this incident covered from before? For whatever reason, I have not done the "State file has different major version (0.00); resetting projects" message ... though I *MAY* have one example. But, paranoid guy I am ... can you zip up the .TXT & .OLD files ... I think I can get back in the saddle today ... though only time will tell ... As near as I can tell, this happens if something crashed BOINC Deamon while it is writing the state file ... so, you get a truncated file and it is read as a 0.00 version ... Anyway, I would love to have the logs ... p.d.buck@comcast.net |

Anyway, I would love to have the logs ... There was no .old file present... maybe because this is a host that's just recently attached to SETI. But I've sent the .txt file in a .zip to you. |

Well, it looks as if the problem with the -106 errors has disappeared. Over the last few days, my uploads and downloads have been going exceptionally smoothly! Congratulations to Rom, and/or whomever else was involved, for identifying and correcting the issues. No, Rom's the man ... |

In this case it would come under: Unrecoverable error for result '(result)' ( - exit code -'(number)' ('(hex-number)')) Otherwise, I would have 20,000 for individual numbers. :) If this becomes a specialized error where we can point to a specific cause and suggest a specific "cure" then it deserves a spot in the sun. |

Paul I'm not sure if you've gotten this particular one before or not. I accidently killed the Einstein task in Task Manager after I had suspended it in the BOINC Mgr. It was at the beginning of the WU too... (kicking my own ass for this one) :-( 7/30/2005 2:26:29 PM|Einstein@Home|Unrecoverable error for result l1_1171.0__1171.0_0.1_T03_S4lA_1 (Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)) No matter where you go, there you are... |

I just checked and I have one from Predictor@Home and one from CPDN. See http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Unrecoverable_error_for_result_%27%28result%29%27_%28Incorrect_function._%280x1%29_-_exit_code_1_%280x1%29%29. |

This is a new one on me, I had M@H suspended & NNW, when I hit resume I got this: 7/31/2005 1:48:55 PM|Message@Home|Sending scheduler request to http://message.boincstats.com/cgi/ 7/31/2005 1:48:55 PM|Message@Home|Requesting 0 seconds of work, returning 0 results 7/31/2005 1:48:57 PM|Message@Home|Scheduler request to http://message.boincstats.com/cgi/ succeeded 7/31/2005 1:48:57 PM|Message@Home|Message from server: Capable of doing 423307.85262768 seconds of work before deadline. 7/31/2005 1:48:57 PM|Message@Home|Message from server: Still have work for 0 seconds. 7/31/2005 1:48:57 PM|Message@Home|Message from server: Requested 0.000000 seconds of work. 7/31/2005 1:48:57 PM|Message@Home|Message from server: Maximum work quantity to send: 0.000000 seconds. Got the same message when I hit "Allow New Work" I got the same thing. I have a LHC crunching now (it's 1/2 done, 2 waiting), 2 S@H units (1 is 25% done), and 1 CP unit (suspended). I think it's a debt issue as the 3rd LHC unit was requested after I got the 1st message and the request to LHC was for just 6 seconds of work. I'll edit the client state XML data here in a bit and see what happens... Looking at DebtView it shows that M@H has the largest LTD by far (-57800) compared to the rest (-300 to -2500 avg). |
