I want to finish the Boinc work I have and then not recieve any more for a while.I set my connect to network to [0 Days}.
Will this stop any downloads of new work?.
I don't want to stop crunching now as I see in my account page that 3 work units need to be done and that these are pending for other users that have finished them.
I don't want to download anymore so I don't hold up any pending credit for others.

No. If you set the queue size to 0, it will run dry and then ask for more at that point.

There are two ways. If you are using version 4.25? 4.35? or later, there should be a button for no work download on the projects page. Select a project and push the button.

If you are using 4.20 or later and BOINCView there is a similar button at the top of BOINCView.

If you are using 4.19 or earlier, you need to set your disk usage so that the computer will have no disk space available to it (this is on this website under your account - general settings). Make certain that you update after you set the disk usage.

I am talking about the below setting in my preferences. Is that what you are saying about the queue. I thought if you set it 1 you will get work for 1 day and setting it to 0 means no work. Isn't that correct?
Network usage
Connect to network about every
(determines size of work cache; maximum 10 days) 0 days

No, what John says is correct. Setting your 'connect to' at 0, does not mean no work. BOINC will always download another WU even if you set it to 0.

When I want to stop downloading workunits I have set days to connect to zero and did not get any more units. Are the people that are saying it doesn't work set it to zero and still got work?
