I would like to run boinc.exe with the -return_results_immediately option. I would also like to run boinc from a user with normal privilage and not administrator privilage.

My query is how can I do these two things and what is the best way? From my limited knowledge and quick tests I found the following:

1) Boinc manager (v4.43) does not appear to have a setting to use this command line option.

2) Run boinc.exe at boot time and then use Boinc manager as required to view progress. This I believe should work and I can add the -return_results_immediately command line option. Alas when I tested this previously (v4.25) it would not work under a normal user, only an admin user seemed to work for me.

3) Run it as a service. In this case how would I set that command line parameter for boinc.exe and can the service be run as a user with normal privilages?

Many thanks

1) BoincManager is not the place to set this.

2) You can set the rights of the BOINC directory so that normal users can write to it.

3) You can find the place in the registry where the commandline for the service start is stored and modify it to include this flag.
