Message 111574 - Posted: 16 May 2005, 6:20:55 UTC

Since upgrading to BOINC 4.41 this morning, I am now only able to udate the ProteinPredictor Project. I hit update for Predictor to get the following messages:

16/05/2005 07:12:57|ProteinPredictorAtHome|Requesting 171579.07 seconds of work
16/05/2005 07:12:58|ProteinPredictorAtHome|Sending scheduler request to http://predictor.scripps.edu/predictor_cgi/cgi
16/05/2005 07:13:01|ProteinPredictorAtHome|Scheduler request to http://predictor.scripps.edu/predictor_cgi/cgi succeeded

But I click on update for SETI and I get the same bug that was around in 4.38:

16/05/2005 07:14:46||request_reschedule_cpus: project op
16/05/2005 07:14:46||schedule_cpus: must schedule
16/05/2005 07:14:46||earliest deadline: 1116712008.000000 h0008A_1_1638_3

Not the "Scheduler RPC to http://blablabla succeeded." message.

Anyone with the same problem?

Chris

I have completed WU's from 3 different projects waiting to report. It seems this is a verified bug, apparently hard to squash.

A fix should be available in the next release.

@Poorboy, where you been? Don't like us at the Seti Fora anymore? LOL

There's many (MANY) more posts related to this issue on the First 4.41 thread, cjmweb_uk you can find your answer there.

==========

I take issue with some of the people and a lot of stuff that is posted here at the Seti Forum, so it's best for all around that I just don't crunch for Seti or post in the Seti Forum any more than I have to ...

Better get the new version out soon...this not reporting bug is soon to get serious. Some WU's approaching deadline, completed but unable to report apparently.

Hi

i´ve just copied an older boinc.exe over the top, reported all WUs
before deadline is reached and switched back to 4.41.
But if you do so don´t forget to close Boinc before you do that.

Automatic reporting still works just fine. They will be grabbed around 24 hours before deadline.

Well they have been there for much longer than that already. Some of the WU's are already within the 24 hour to deadline timeframe.

Worked on my system. You might want to consider rolling back to something earlier than 4.38 to report your work if you are concerned.

I get the same messages when i update on every project!! (LHC - SETI - PREDICTOR)

request_reschedule_cpus: project op
schedule_cpus: must schedule

I can't get new work unless i reset a project. ( I did that with seti an it only downloads 1 WU :-((

everyone with 4.41 is in that same boat with you. It's a known bug. I've gone back to an earlier version as have many. We're waiting for the next release. If you go back to the "official" release version 4.25 you'll be able to get work.

Since you were the first to notice, would you like to make the new thread for 4.42? It's your honor.
