Had a P4 2.8Gig HT with optimized times...has 100K credits but dont use it anymore. Host #316624 CPU: Intel P4 2.8GHz (Hyperthread) RAM: 2 x PC3200 Avg time: 6360 / 2 (HT) = 3180 RAC: 760 (at one time, was machine #48 for a while) |

<blockquote> Hmm, 4,022.8 for both benchmarks, eh? Interesting...</blockquote> Yea, thats how I forced the client to grant credits similar to what other hosts were submitting...around 30 claimed on average. |

<blockquote> you forget, that we P4 HT Users do 2 WUs at the same Time </blockquote> I haven't forgotten, but for twice the power consumption and almost twice the clock frequency, you'd better be getting something! :) |

Hey, I thought I'd throw my little Celeron in here just for kicks. :) With the optimized client, I'm getting an average of 6956 seconds, or 1.93 hours per work unit. Not bad for a cheap low-end Intel processor! CPU: Intel Celeron D 2.93 GHz. FSB: 533 MHz. L2 Cache: 256Kb RAM: 512MB (PC3200 DDR) Avg time: 6956 sec. Dig |

How do ypu P4 folks get such fast wu crunching times? Try reading the 3 or so threads related to an "optimized windows client" posted by TMR. Start with this [url=http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=14378]one<a> then on to this [url=http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=14557]one<a> and finally this [url=http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=14594]one<a> Be careful as this represent a transition from one to the next and you should read all of it to make sure you get the right one. tony |
