It is too easy to get caught up in a debate over which is better, why the new is evil and the old is pristine, or why the new is better and the old is antiquated.
It is better to work together to find a common good.
If there truely is a better way to work out a single project system sort of a pseudo seti-classic, for the seti classic people that like it, then why not create a shell of a system that will still utilize the boinc servers in exactly the same way that boinc does. The die hard "i would rather die than give up classic" seti classic users would have a way to run the only project that means something to them, and the guys at BOINC would not have to worry about maintaining two data server systems. I'm sure an entrepreneurial person on her can come up with something like that in a matter of days, and then post it here for others to use.
There are dozens of optimized boinc versions, so why not an multi-project optimized out version.
I give that as a challenge for someone to generate. Bearing in mind that it has to be done in a manner in which it will send/receive data/status exactly as the boinc systems do, and they will have to maintain it.
The seti users would also then have to realize that there will be times when seti is down for some reason, for days maybe, and they may miss out on crunchin at times. If they decide to go with a single project system, they have to accept its limitations.
Those that want to utilize crunchin when seti is out for a week at a time, which is guaranteed to happen, they can use the multi-project boinc.
The above is only a suggestion. Don't respond to it immediately in anger, because that is not the constructive way to get things done.
Think about it, if someone volunteers to do something, then they should contact the real boinc crew, or one of its illustrious friends of the staff, and see what is involved. Of course, my guess, 100 may volunteer, but I'll bet 95 will chicken out when they see the complexity involved.

If you agree with what I said or not, you don't have to post.

But what I would like for all to see, hear, listen, and absorb, is that we all need to work together, and not fight about what is best.
Too many "hate" posts have been made. Makes one sick to see so much animosity amongst a group that should be of the best in the world. Its disgusting.
Work together.

And back to the title of this post:
REGARDLESS, Keep on crunchin'.

Give boinc a chance, and see if it eventually grows on you.
I'm not a long term seti'er, but as my wife will vouch, I do get carried away, obsessed with things. So seti classic was an obsession, and it was hard to see the words that were there from the beginning, seti is going away, to be replaced by boinc.
So give it a chance, and work through the issues.
Either way,
REGARDLESS, Keep on crunchin'.

It will all work out in the end.

I have found that when I was the angriest at boinc or seti classic, and believe me, I was mad at seti classic more times than I have been at boinc, I found that most of the time, it was out of my own ignorance, or my own intolerance, or my own mistake that caused the issue I had.
Sometimes, yes it wasn't my fault, and for those, I myself found work arounds.

REGARDLESS, Keep on crunchin'

Thanks, and Keep on crunchin'

Actually the message I tried to bring across in my own clumbsy way in my thread ;) So I can't say that I disagree with you
