One of my computers got a large LHC unit this morning despite the LHC website saying that there was no work. ----- |

I suspect they are doing that to get control results to compare with the results comming back from the test project. I hope they have solved the problems and will be cranking us back up ... |

> Everything in computing is always in beta! This is not entirely true. Some things are still Alpha. |

> I was announcing to the world - Just in case they didn't know. > > [Fuzzy takes a swipe at NA] > > Ow! > Ok, just don't do it some other time, mm'kay? ;-D I was asking as I'm looking for another project. I attached to PP@H not long time ago, and something is killing my electronic dictionary, so after a while it says: "The subsystem Win 16 hasn't enough ressources to continue. Click OK, close the programs and reboot the computer." So, something is eating the ressources, and it sucks to have to reboot every time! Rumours goes that it could be CPDN or PP, and since the problem started right after I installed 4.25 and attached to PP, I've decided to drop PP, since I need my dictionary more than PP needs my processor. Or I'll leave it to the others with no need of a dictionary to crunch there! So, if the problem is still there, after I've finished crunching the last WU and detach from the project, it must be 4.25, which is the culprit! But, I'm looking for a third project, but not by all means! If there's too many problems, I'm perfectly happy with Seti And Einstein! "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me |

NEWs from a thread Markku Degerholm Joined: Sep 3, 2004 Posts: 58 ID: 1001 Posted: 5 Apr 2005 17:01:28 UTC We have been doing alpha testing of the new clients and it seems to be going well. At least zero CPU time and progress indicator problems have been resolved. We continue testing of the clients until our physicists are ready to generate more work. Markku Degerholm LHC@home admin |
