The question makes perfect sense.
I will handle the second part first. When you detach, any WUs that you have on your hard disk will not be crunched further, and if they are finished and not reported, the credit request will never be made. Do an update first if you have any WUs on your HD. The ones that have not been crunched to compeltion will eventually expire and be handed out to other hosts. They expire at the deadline.
Now for the first part. Choose a profile that you are not using (I am going to hope at this point that you are not a working student with computers at all three places). Set the disk usage space for that profile to be too small for BOINC to download any S@H WUs (.001 GB ought to do). Wait for the completion, update, and disconnect.
Now for the question that you did not ask, but will eventually. No you cannot get rid of the old computer out of your profile. It has downloaded at least one WU, and therefore cannot be deleted.
