Has anybody got this working with boinc 4.25 and boinicview 1.0.2?

How do you enable the remote rpc when the boinc manager doesn't allow -allow_remote_gui_rpc on the command line?

create a remote_hosts.cfg text-file in the boinc folder and write the ip-number (or if namesolving is working like dns or wins the computername) in it.

That should work and has more security because only the specified ip number
is allowed to get the data from the remote one.

My previous remote_host.cfg file got deleted when I uninstalled the other version.

It still doesn't work.
Do I need the command line option -allow_remote_gui_rpc?

no, you don't need that option ;) only the remote_hosts.cfg file

I've found, though, that IP's have a better chance of working than host names in the remote_hosts.cfg file.

I got it to work. I needed to delete my previous location and added the new location. When adding the new location it used port 1043.
My old locations were using the old port 31416 which didn't work.

Thanks
