Boinc/Seti runs prety good, but i´ve a problem with auto connecting my dial in connection. How can i forbid boinc to establish a connection by its own? I´ve tried to use put the right information in "my Account" but boinc will try to make a connection every time a package is ready to report or new packages has to been loaded. Thanks a lot for your help, and please excuse my realy bad english :-) |

Chose 'disable Boinc network access' from the Files menue. oder: 'Netzwerkzugriff abschalten' unter Dateien. Depends on your client and Language version ;) Gruesse vom Saenger For questions about Boinc look in the BOINC-Wiki |

If you have your preferences set to auto connect then BOINC will dial every time there is work to return or when it needs new work. There is no setting that says "connect a maximum of X times per day" where you can set what X is. But this sounds like a good development for the future (I must pass this idea on)! ps. Please excuse my non-existant German! Paul (S@H1 8888) And proud of it! |

Yes, but the switch in the file section will disable all network activity. The client can´t up- / download any data, just if an internet connection is established. My mail client, for example, will transfer data if there is a connection and will refuse if there is none. But it won´t establish a connection by its own. Thats the way the boinc client should work. |
