Hi all,

Being stupid, i can't find the origional email s@h sent me so I could sign up and crunch, now as I remember you get a link and a id number to copy and past when you first attach to a project, now can I get this email resent or is my cross project id that number I tapped in when I first signed up.
Note to self - back up emails if you want to find them again.

Am I near the mark.

On the Seti-Boinc frontpage click on "login" below the Your Account menu.
Then, just before the box where you have to put your account key you will find a link "If you don't know your account key, click here."
On that page you can let the mail be send to you again.

Just go to log in and click on 'If you don't know your account key, click here.

BTW:
A good manual for Boinc is Paul D. Bucks BOINC Powered Projects Documentation and his FAQ therein.

Edit:
The CPID is somehow calculated with your email adress and your Account number, and is used for general preferences and the stat-pages.

Since you clicked "remember me" box, I know that because you are able to post here, then shouldn't the key be in a cookie?

on a similar note,
between seti, pirates, cpdn and einstein, i have 2 DIFFERENT cross project IDs. all used the same email address.
I attached to the projects in this order, but seti and einstein are the same, pirates and CPDN are the same.

1. seti
2. cpdn
3. pirates
4. einstein

any ideas? since i am not using one of the big stats sites, this has not affected me, just curious.

There is one internal format of the cross-project-id used by the BOINC client and the servers, but another format used for stats-dumps and therefore showing up in stats. Seti among others is showing the format used in stats-dumps under your account, but CPDN haven't upgraded their BOINC-software so still displays the internal format.

For me I also see SETI & Einstein with the same CPID while
CPDN & LHC have their own CPID which is different from SETI & Einstein.
One thing I have noticed is that the two groups have different BOINC server software. I remember reading somewhere that the CPID changed with the newer server software. But still, both my CPID's get the results to the stats pages.

If you're still crunching and have access to your cruncher machines (sometimes this is not necessarily true ;), you can get your keys in your account_project.xml files. Just check the value of <authenticator>.
