When BOINC downloads the work unit, where does it save the files too? Was wondering this as my laptop has 6 WU's pending, which take about 8 houors each and my Desktop is about to run out. Was wanting to swap ready to run units from my laptop to my desktop.

Can this be done? or will it all go to a ball of chalk if i try

To your BOINC directory, in \projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu

I guess it won't work as the Berkeley server keeps track of which system downloads a WU, my guess is it won't allow another system to return the result.

From my understanding you can NOT swap units between computers.

Berkeley keeps track of which computers recieve each WU that computer must return that WU to get credit. I think it was done to help cut down on cheating.

Yeah. I found the WU's and tried swapping them over. No joy. So now i am left with my laptop having 27 hours of work on it and my normal rig having bo-diddly. Go figure
