I just downloaded the install file for Linux followed the install docs by using "gunzip" to unpack the archive. But I just get this error message: boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu.gz: not in gzip format help! |

Some browsers automatically uncompress gzipped files on download. Type: file boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu.gz from the command line. This will tell you what kind of type of file it is. If it's an ELF executable, just rename it to get rid of the .gz suffix and turn the executable bit: mv boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu.gz boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu chmod a+x boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu - Roberto |
