Get info on /Application/Boinc and change the permissions so that wheel is allowed read/write access, and then Apply to enclosed items. From the Terminal the command is:
sudo chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Boinc
That should take care of the permissions problem.

Did you remember to make boinc_4.19-powerpc-apple-darwin executeable?

Firstly, thanx for the help!

Now, excuse my ignorance but I dont know how to make bonic executable, however you advice did work except my computer did not retrieve work units form seti. I logged out and attempted to login again but the computer did not appear to accept the computers password and again told me permission denied when i tried to enter the bonic file. What is happening?

cheers
Jake

OK - In order to make boinc_4.19_powerpc-apple-darwin executable, use this command:
sudo chmod 755 /Applications/boinc_4.19_powerpc-apple-darwin
(It's still in the Applications folder, right?)

Either way, the server (scheduler[?]) has been throwing conniptions the last few weeks - It's hit-or-miss right now. So if you see BOINC outputting something like "Deferring communications" or "Backing off", then it's most likely a server problem and not your setup.
