After awhile with the validator seeming, well a bit speedy, over the past couple days no WUs have validated. Some have 3 results returned

http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=8464494
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=8534805

In all cases, the validator state is still in initial for all hosts.

The server stats show over 90,000 waiting validation, though I haven't kept an eye on this to see if this number is growing or not.

Has anyone else been seeing a slow down on their WU validation over the past day or 2? To the point where nothing seems to leave the initial stage?

I have always between 40 - 50 WUs waiting for other users to complete their WUs or to be validated... it has been like this for a loooong time now! Many reasons for that but you already read about those I guess.
Happy crunching

Yeah, it was going good there for awhile, and now nothing...

BTW, every WU I listed has the needed quarum of 3 (3 of 4 sent out/per the recent way of doing things) returned results to be looked at by the validator. I have other WUs with only 2 returned results thus far, but didn't give links to them, as the needed quarum wasn't reached yet.

I have a dozen of this type as well, I wonder if this has something to do with todays outage.

Still looking for something profound or inspirational to place here.

I have asked the question about the status of the validator gaining undone work units. No one has said anything, yet. I have noticed the gain on the unvalidate WU for just over a week. It would be nice to see someone update us on this.

Validator is working ;but not well. I have a large farm and normally I would be crunching 3-5 thousand points a day , now i am lucy to get a little over a thousand . I notice watching others with high and even much higher output than I and they have slowed down as well by a large margaran. Also have a lots of pending WU that have qualified but no credit . Alot of these are weeks old. I believe Berkeley is working hard on these problems and issues. And sure they will Resolve soon. When Berkeley starts cross-over from seti to boinc i think thing will pick up .

Finally some news on the Tech News page:

Meanwhile the current database is being artificially slowed for reasons we have yet to determine. Basically, something internal to mysql caused it to suddenly read 5 megabytes/sec from the data disks. This started last Friday and hasn't stopped since. Even when there are no queries happening there are major amounts of disk I/O. Everything is working, just a little slower than it should.

So this seems to be the issue is what is causing the problems. Glad to know we all were estute in noticing a problem.
