Just so you all know, you too can add to the FAQ, you can provide new insights to material that is already there, you can vote on the qustions that are helpful, or not, and you can ALSO ask NEW questions.

I look at it each day and I am trying to "touch" 5-10 questions each day, so, there should be a regular flow of information and updates (right now I am focusing on messages).

There are a couple bugs, you can't use the links out and the styles stink, but that is the cosmetics and there is too much content that needs to be updated (2 new project for one) ...

Major additions to the web sites for two (forum preferences for example), and the images are now all out of date ...

Thanks for all your documentation efforts (and results), Paul. Everybody will find it useful at some point. I especially like that you are officially on the front page of Predictor for documentation!!
However, I'm on your site now, and it is not apparent to me where your FAQ is.
OK, now I see I have to go down one level into Boinc and Project Docs. I thought it would be on the front page.
Anyway, thanks.

Dan,

Yes ... I have struggled with what to put where ... and there is always a better way :)

In the "OLD" <a> I had a LOT of stuff on the first page. People found that too hard as there was a lot of "noise". The good news is that once you figure out the basic Iconography, it gets easier.

One of my personal metrics on how complex a system is, is to count the pages that are required to document it so that just about anyone can understand the broad scope of a system. I had over 300 pages of material in the "old" site, and at the moment over that in the "new" site.

In the not to distant future the base page count is going to go back down to the 250 ball park, but what is not so easy to see is that I have added a significant amount of material in things like the phpMyFAQ tool, so my page count goes down, but the content is still going up like a rocket.

In phpMyFAQ I have, just for an example, over 90 new topics just to cover the BOINC messages. Even more exciting to me is that the developers of phpMyFAQ are working on a beta of the next version and that will allow me to use PHP code in the FAQ... scheduled for the release after that is a Glossary feature.

Even better, many of the bugs that I have reported in the current version SHOULD be fixed in the maintenance release scheduled for the end of this month and beginning of next month.
