I just got an email from Einstein@home asking me to help test the project! Maybe you other people who, like me, signed up but didn't get a test slot got one now!

You must have some good luck. I signed up for testing as well and don't see any email from them yet.

Thank you for your interest in Einstein@home!

Einstein@home is a program that uses your computer's idle time to
search for spinning compact stars (such as pulsars) using data
from the LIGO and GEO gravitational wave detectors. While we are
still testing, we are close to deploying a production version of
Einstein@home, as part of the American Physical Society's World
Year of Physics 2005 activities.

We would be grateful for your help in final testing of Einstein@home.
If you would like to help us, please go to http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/
and click on the 'Download BOINC' link. Download and run BOINC (use
a version greater than or equal to 4.14 please), and when prompted,
enter:
Project URL: http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu
Account ID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
At the URL above, use the 'Your account' link to set preferences about
when Einstein@home will run on your computer, change your account name,
view your pending credits, upload a photo for our picture gallery, etc.

If you do not want to help us with testing, but would like to
participate when the testing is over, please keep your Account ID.
You can use it when we finish testing and 'throw open the doors'.

If you experience problems with Einstein@home or have suggestions,
please post a question on the message board at the URL above.

Sincerely,
Bruce Allen, Professor of Physics, U. of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
Einstein@home Leader for the LIGO Scientific Collaboration

Gosh, I'm good. To be the best you have to work hard. As the best cruncher sees his/her rank slowly decrease to the first position. they see ranked # 10, then 9 then 8, then 7 etc. Look at my Einstein ranking.... It's at "0" that means I'm better than the slowpoke with a "1" in that spot.

Yeah for me. lol

well... I guess I'm not cool either. :( I still don't have my email.

Oh well, I guess I'll just crawl back into my dark cave and draw on the walls with old chunks of ash from my fire.

I would show you, but i've burned my hands off trying to tame the fire, plus, just like mom said, if I played in the fire I would wet the bed.
