I just installed a second CPU in one of my PCs. I have updated the settings for Boinc to use two processors. I had Boinc re-run the benchmarks, but it only comes back showing one processor. Windows XP is showing two processors. I have another PC that has a P4 with HT and it's now running two projects at one time, but the PC that has the second CPU just added does not. Is there something I'm msising here? |

Never mind, I think I've got it figured out. |

Maybe for some reason your prefs didnt update correctly. Open with Notepad your client_state.xml and under the tag "p_ncpus" enter "2" if "1" present. Also look at global_prefs.xml if there is shown "2" under "max_cpus" tag. Hope it will work for you |

Try restarting BOINC. Sometimes it starts before XP is finished updating whatever hardware changes it sees. |
