On one of my dual processor boards I changed the processors from a 550/1meg to a 500/2meg and it added another computer how do I delete it or merge it back?
When I hit merge computer it gives me no option.

You can only merge computers that are exactly the same. Since you changed your processors Boinc sees them as 2 different computers. That means you can't merge them.

Thats the beauty of it... You get to keep the credits! Really, your total credit count will not be touched. I have deleted a couple and am waiting on 3 others to become available for deletion. Have not lost a credit yet. There is also at least one other thread that describes this in more detail.

Happy Crunching!

That's cool, don't suppose you know where that thread do you? As in like ID#. Frm your comment I'm assuming it becomes available for deletion after certain criterion are met. I want to read this becuase I'm about to upgrade MiniMe.

But what happens to all the downloaded WU's that show on the "OLD" computer?
Will my box ever crunch them or will they just have to be recycled?

All I need to know is there a way to have the box crunch all the WU's that were downloaded before I changed processors?
When I go into the BOINC folder under projects it looks like they are there but it downloads new ones and skips the old ones.
Or if I put the other processors back in will it crunch them?

Thanks,Scott

Not sure but I crashed a drive and installed a new one so I'm about to find out about moving WU around... I'll let you know what it does.

it should, but one of the coders out there would know for sure. You would then have the same PC as before, but you would want to make sure that the old configuration does not crunch the new ones.
on my dual boot machine (XP/2003) will crunch the same data no problem (only installed BOINC into xp, generally run 2003).

If you do it, let me know if it does work (for my own curiosity)

Right now I set to only connect 0.1 times a day to get the load back down then I will switch it back to try and crunch the other ones.

As I said I put the old processor back in,All it hopes of getting a Quad board for the matched quad of 500/2meg xeon's.
Maybe someday.
