Profile: Mick

Personal background
Hello, my name is Mick and I'm 62. I live in Cardiff UK but originate from Nottingham. In the past I travelled the world and lived in quite a few different areas of the globe. I worked as a service engineer for many years working for a local company that manufactures silicon etching and deposition equipment for the micro-chip industry. I don't travel much any more, thank heavens, and work as a service advisor for a company in Llantrisant. I'm on the support team at phpBB.com where I spend a lot of my spare time. I've been into home computing since 1980 and am a none-active radio ham. The two hobbies combined in the 80's when I was part of the original experiments with packet radio and ran a packet radio BBS for many years.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The reason I was drawn to SETI@home is because I seriously believe there HAS to be other intelligent life out there. The figures are astronomically in favour of it and I figured if I can help in proving that fact I will have done something useful in my life. I have been following the progress of the project for a while watching TV etc.
