Profile: Bob Scire

Personal background
I am 47 and a Rural Mail Carrier, I have a degree in Geology and was always facinated by the heavens. I became involved with SETI several years ago, after reading an article in the St.Petersburg Times (fl). I started running them on an old 66mhz computor and upgraded to an amd 200 mhz and now to a 1.6 ghz AMD athalon xp .
My son Robert became involved during the summer of 2002 and runs a 1 ghz AMD Athalon XP, he is wanting to persue his interests in Meteorology and using the USAF as his avenue for his education, He leaves in June 2003 as a crew cheif in the Air Force.
My Nephew Joe (Jetmec) became interested in Seti shortly after Rob, As did my wife Patty, Joes fiance Destiny, Joes son Little Jetmec, My neice Chris and my step daughter Manda panda.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
To think that we are the only life forms in this universe is to be nieve and awfully pompus. Yes I do believe there is ET life. Is it going to be carbon based? Who knows, But the real question is would the human race accept them or would the world leaders or some backwoods peace officer or third world nation attack them as enemies.
I believe we should send signals out
