Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I believe Extraterrestrial Life does exist, but I don't think we will ever discover it. The unlikely event of such a discovery will most likely not change anything, since beyond mathematics; we will not understand one another. However, a limited number of people may commit suicide and believe the aliens to be the next step in their evolution.

2. I run Seti, because someone else is interested in the results. I don't think a signal will ever be found. If a species is intelligent enough for interstellar travel or communication, they will do it in a way that we cannot conceive, and there fore we would not be able to eavesdrop in on there results. If they have similar technology to us, the signal strength will not be strong enough to reach us and be interpreted by our current technology. We currently have a hard enough time to tell if a planet exists, but to receive a signal that isn't even trying to be broadcasted to us directly would be virtually impossible.
