Personal background
I'm studying Business and Technology Management at Coventry University in the UK. I am from a large town called Rotherham near Sheffield. I like Ice Hockey, the downside is that the sport is relatively small outside of north america so those of you who can go to a hockey game almost anyday, think yourselves lucky. I support the Sheffield Steelers. C'mon.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think there is little chance that we will find intelligent life anywhere else. I do however believe that we will eventually find plant and animal life on other worlds. We just need to find how to get there.

I'm supporting SETI@home because it's a worthwhile task, even if i think it will find nothing.

I think we are being naive in believing we can find an ET signal on radio frequencies when there is so much noise out there, anything would just be masked degraded to literally nothing. We don't even know if radio transmisssions from our planet are reaching other stars and what quality they are in if/when they get there.
Surely there are better ways of transmitting data than what we use and search now. Ways that only technology can reveal. Perhaps we will one day discover means that gives crystal quality and no signal deterioration over long distances.

With that, only time will tell.
