Profile: gravitywell

Personal background
I am a microbiologst from Colchester, CT. I have been reading and writing sci-fi my whole life. I admire the work of Arthur C. Clark, especially his RAMA series. Lately I have been reading John Scalzi, and it is his style and subject matter that best matches mine. My work basically centers around first contact scenarios: from as technically plausible as possible to outlandish. The trick is trying to envision the human reaction. I also try to imagine the effects of dark matter and energy upon our universe. Using Higgs-bosun generators to create artificial gravity, using these energies to to effect the quantum spaces within atomic structures to create macroscopic quantum fields that can be traveled in. Stuff like that.I am bothered by the possible large world
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.Firstly I am drawn in by the methodical, relentless cascade of detectable energies that occupy my screen. I meditate on the patterns. I find myself wondering at the possible big world implications of Herr Heisenberg's principal. Watching this experiment might matter on some quantum level.

2. Well, this experiment has to work. Eventually. To paraphrase from The Hitch Hikers Guide, we have no idea how mind-boggelingly HUGE the universe is. More galaxies than grains of sand and all that... Trillions of stars Billions of planets with life... Many millions of intelligent life. At some point in their history they used radio waves, and that HAS to be floating around out there.

3. Just in case observation does effect the experiment, visualize the datastream as much as possible.
