Personal background |
Hi,
My names Andrew and I live in Brisbane, Australia. I'm a Boilermaker by trade but currently a repair coordinator.
I've always had an interest in the universe ( just to sum up everything especially outside of this planet. ) The size and age is mind blowing and difficult to comprehend.
The thought of dying one day and never knowing the answers of the universe is saddening. This will sound really corny but sci fi shows like Star Trek etc are the closest I will ever come to visiting stars, planets...even black holes!
I think the universe is just too vast for us to be the only, living beings but the distance is so great, I'm not sure if we will ever meet anyone else.
I recently upgraded my telescope to a 10" Dobsonian and am enjoying a bit of star gazing of late. The Orion nebula looks fantastic.
I'm currently reading Michio Kaku's book, Physics of the Impossible and Stephen Hawkings book, A moment in Time is next on the list. I'm a big fan of Michio. He's made space and time interesting and exciting on the tv :) |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I run SETI@home to try and help find answers to our universe. Is there other life out there?
I'm also a partake in Milkyway@home.
Collectively, humans could achieve much more!
Not sure about how to find out EXACTLY what part of the project I'm helping with.
Suggestions...
Well so far I can't seem to get graphics to show up, nor am I able to change the skins. Bit bummed out by that.
Progress reports would be nice to view as well. |
