Personal background
At the age of 33 I am well into the mysteries of deep space. Not only wondering at the shear size or numbers but into the possibilities as well. Possibilities as discussed in "string theory", "star trek", "special/general relativity" and human-interaction. I will not presume to understand it all, but it triggers a great many questions. Why would the ETs make it hard for us to find their signals ? What if: Gravity is a "resulting force" (like the corriolis-force) resulting from the fact that we are not outside our world of observation and therefore experiencing someting that is the result of other forces, more easily explained ? Wouldn´t the world be much more chaotic if there would not be some sort of universal link between all mankind ? Or more philosofical: What if the world as we experience it, is just the manifistation of all universal differences acknowledged by some superhuman brain ?

I would enjoy to discuss the above and other thought with you.

As for now this Dutchy says goodbye.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, it exists. We will have to learn to listen, understand the story and project it on a large scale. So listen to the radio is fine, but why not try to find signals that arrive simultaniously at earth on very different places (low frequency signal, that bends around the earth towards the surface, like waves at the beach). Benefits and dangers: Hey, wether we kill ourselves (on the long term) by polution, terrorisme of war or we run the risk of being killed by ETs.

2. Yes, send everything we have. The chaos of impressions will warn them what kind of society to expect.

3. Each carries his stone to build "utopia." Its set-up great and a good example what sharing knowledge can do for your research and development. Most people still sit on what they know and be just proud of it. Go on like you have and I really would like to get some more inside information or references to the signal-processing etc.
