| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I run Seti@home as I believe we just need to prove that we are not the only sentient beings in the universe. I'm a firm believer that we have so much we could learn from more advanced civilizations and hopefully resolve some of our problems here on Earth. I think it would be the greatest scientific discovery ever. My only suggestion is that it might be easier for greenhorns like me if the Boinc GUI or screensaver showed a little more clearly what was actually happening with my status. (It seems to be downloading a number of data packets, but I don't find it easy to find out whether my PC has crunched that data and sent it back to the server. So, just something simple on the GUI that tells me if my PC has uploaded any results. |
