Personal background
Rick is a 38 yr old sheet metal fabricator that over the past three years has been pursuing his MCSE and A certifications. Recently he obtained his A and is now focusing his efforts on the MCSE core series. He always has machine running and some of which sit idle and decided to contribute to the effort of SETI by donating processor time to the search.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1: Yes, but we will locate them either when they reach our current level of technology or they decide we are a mature enough species to be contacted at their descretion. I believe it will have a profound effect both good and bad depending on the education level of the group in question. On the good side it will bring he entire world together realizing that most of the problems we fight over tend to be petty at best. On the the other hand paraniod extremist will claim that the end of the world is coming and all is to be lost.

2:We already are!

3:Why not? I believe it to be one of, if not the biggest, realization in the history of the human race. Views on the project? You won't find something if you don't look for it, and you get to develop what it is you are looking for.
