| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. Yes, I do believe that extraterrestrial life does exist, but I believe it may be awhile before we discover it. We search for life in the universe as if searching for ourselves, but any other life may be very different and hard to detect using our current parameters. The benefit is that we will know we are no longer alone, but the dangers are similar to the dangers that the native americans encountered when they met the Europeans.
2. No, I'm against a beacon. I'd rather find them, before they find us.
3. I run SETI@home to assist in the task of possibly finding some sign of other life. |
