Hmmm...I'm a Buddhist (who else would join the Seti@Home Bodhisattvas, LOL!), practicing the Vajrayana under the instruction of my Guru, Lama Yeshe Jinpa in Sacramento, California. I'm forty-seven, although that sounds waay older than I feel ...I love music and art, reading, cooking for friends and family, adventuring, skygazing (Mars is very beautiful tonight!),hanging out with friends and/or my dog. Most important of all of course is my practice and my Dharma studies, but everything we do can be part of our practice! My conventional job is in the medical field working with patients, and I am also very fortunate to work for Lama la as a secretary, assistant and transcriptionist.
I'm kind of a Dharma/science geek, I guess...!
I intend to attain enlightenment in this lifetime in order to benefit all sentient beings. |

I absolutely do not believe we are the only beings in the universe, but then no Tibetan Buddhist does!
My practice incorporates the physical, spiritual, psychological and cosmological aspects of existence, with the intent and purpose of liberating and benefiting all sentient beings, through the practice of compassion. Wouldn't it be lovely if we made contact and they had the same aspirations?!
I've wanted to participate for many years but only just recently got a home computer-this was one of the first things I did with it.
I love the idea of a grass-roots effort to make contact, and of people everywhere working together to do so. I think it is very important from that perspective, as well as a scientific perspective.
My father was an engineer in the American space program-he worked on the Apollo and Gemini missions and later as a consultant for NASA on the space shuttles. I vividly remember sitting next to him watching the moon landing, and going outside to look at the moon and see the astronauts-I wss very little! |
