Personal background
My name is Karen and I'm from Bristol, England, I work as a customer advisor in the public sector. I'm 42 and have two children. I first became interested in UFO'S when I was very young and my cousin showed me a book of UFO pictures, we watched the sky at night (when it wasn't raining) hoping to spot one. This has carried on throughout my adult years, and my children are now interested. We live on a major flight path for aircraft travelling to America, so everytime a light appears we joke that it is a UFO. I find it a interesting subject and it helps the children to become aware of the night sky. I do have other interests, shouting at the kids, cooking, history, books, music, the Simpsons (were are all great fans),films and walking.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I first heard of SETI many years ago, but the film CONTACT really highlighted what you do. I thought SETI was forced to close but when I seen the web sight I immediatly logged on and became interested in the project. The more people that have SETI@home the greater the chance of finding ET. I have a strong belief that we are not alone in the universe, but who would want to land here? We are a war like race, polluting our atomsphere and running dry of our natural resources. If we can't be good caretakers of our planet, how can we be trusted? I think that ET's are keeping an eye on us to make sure we are staying were we are. Would you want to talk to someone you feel may be a threat to the entire universe if our tecnology advances.
