Personal background |
I'm retired, living with my wife of 41 yrs., 16 miles west of Portland. I'm a computer geek (since 1978) and build and repair our computers. I also enjoy photography, astronomy, model railroads and stamp collecting.
During my working days I was a librarian, specializing in library automation. Most recently, I worked for 14 yrs for the Portland Public schools and then 10 yrs. for a private company that designed, built and installed automated library systems.
In my previous life we lived in the Los Angeles area and escaped to Oregon in 1979. Also spent 4 yrs. in the USAF during that little squabble called Vietnam. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I was a member of seti@home way back around the year 2000. At some point I switched to the medically based programs, most recently folding@home. As a science nut, with an interest in astronomy seti@home has always seemed like a fascinating project. |
