Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Why do you run SETI@home?

SETI@home combines my love of general science with my passion for computers. I feel good knowing that my computer's idle time can be used to contribute to science in a meaningful way.

2. What are your views about the project?

SETI@home is using a brilliant approach to calculate data. I feel that the distributed model of computation is taking hold here in a previously unexplored way. It feels good to be a part of such a community.

3. Any suggestions?

I would like to see SETI@home and other projects integrated within public institutions and computer labs. Many offices, government buildings, schools, universities, and libraries have vast numbers of general use workstations that see extended periods of down time. SETI@home and other projects would convert that time into meaningful calculation and reduce the amount of general CPU waste.
