Personal background
I've been crunching SETI since the beta test window opened in 1999. I've been a huge supporter of the space program for as long as I can remember. I've seen at least 8 shuttles land, and I was on the ground in the California high desert when SpaceShip One launched the private space program. I'm a security specialist, and an extra-class amateur radio operator. (But no, I didn't like the movie "Contact")
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI@HOME is pure science. How cool is that? I remember 20 years ago, reading about "Suitcase SETI" and thinking how enjoyable it would be to be able to contribute to something like that. Now I can :)

My one suggestion for the project? Add a "Check for new versions" tab. Many people don't know when a new client is released.
