Personal background
I've been based in London for nearly 15 years now and have been working in IT for the majority of that time.

Since I'm a member of the Open University BOINC Team, it's only right to put in the standard (slightly boasting!) signaure you find on OUSA message boards. I'll trim it slightly by saying I've studied Social Sciences, Media, Psychology, Industry, and Information Systems at undergraduate level, plus History of Film at postgraduate level.

One day I'll take a break! :)

A couple of things you may be interested in...

Here's my current stats at BOINCStats.com. You can find a similar stats image for your own account within that site.

Finally, here's a link to a site that sells BOINC Merchandise in the UK, such as the T-shirt below. I'm not in any way associated with the site (nor is this an affiliate link,) but I'm happy to promote it as anything that makes someone ask "What's BOINC?" means another potential BOINC-er that can help in the cause.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There's no reason not to run BOINC projects if you have spare CPU/GPU power...

I've love it if SETI@home had more uptime, but I can see that the servers are going to get hammered by the current number of actions being pushed through them. One day there might be some shiny new kit. :)

One more thing... I also run Folding@home on my PS3.

Keep on BOINC-ing!
