Personal background
To generalize oneself is merely to pivot around one's ego, therefore I will doubtfully be able to summarize my existence. With an attempt, I have a long patience, short memory, and an overly creative mind to the point where my activities constantly interfere with my plans. That said, I enjoy working towards goals and ventures: planning, executing, dreaming. I prefer every action resulting in a progressive step and despise setbacks. If every individual can leave a legacy with the cards they are dealt, then why grant failure a definitive meaning?
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Steps of progression can only be taken by those who seek it. It is really a shame that BOINC and ongoing projects like SETI haven't received as much publicity and support as they should. Granted, every individual that has contributed also talks, so eventually, the network will keep growing. I personally support turning idleness into productivity, and I choose my participation wisely. SETI was one of my three that I choose to act in.
