Why do you run SETI@home? "I would love for one of my computers to find the signal that we can point at and say, 'That means there are other conscience beings in the galaxy.'
I think of it like being lost and lonely in unimaginably large field at night. Then, someone - you can't tell how far away - turns on a flashlight. At least you would know your not alone. Besides, it seems to me like an awful waste of a universe if it was just us."
