Personal background
I'm a guy from mainland of China. I'm living in Shanghai now. And I'm a student at Fudan University which is one of the most famous universities in China.

I'm a new one to the SETI@Home program. Fascinated by the outer space imaginaries and shocked by the fact that China ranked so poorly in the SETI@Home program, I decided to join in.

But my computer is poor which is K6-2 400MHz CXT with 256MB Ram and 20GB Hard Disk. It takes about 45 hours to finish one WU in the GUI client. And recently I changed to CMD mode, so the time reduced dramatically to 23 hours.

I'm running SETI@Home in my dorm 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. It's a great glory when finishing one WU and helped the humanking to search for our friends in space.

I'm also trying my best to encourage my dormmate and schoolmate to join this program. And Some of us is in the group named Fudan University,Shanghai. Although a small one now, hope it'll grow rapidly.

Shake hands with you guys :-) We're all doing a great project. It's a joy working with all of you!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe that extraterrestrial life exists. Human should discovery it by chance. I mean nobody can tell when it will happen.

If this happened, people maybe get horrified because some think they will do harm to us. But I think they will be friendly and even politely if they're more advanced than us, and we just have nothing to fear if they are inferior to us. So, I'm optimistic about that.

Human should transmit a beacon for others, because its mutual thing for all the civilizations. We're searching for others and others also searching for us. So we should make a little convenience for others.

I'm running SETI because I'm facinated by this project in which all humankinds give their strength to help. It's magnificent. I'm just loving it :-)
