Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I can't believe that we're the only thinking life in the universe. It's much too big for it to have been created just for us. I'd like to help in the effort to at least receive confirmation that there is actually intelligent life other than ourselves. Plus, it's a lot of fun to tweak my systems to see how much work I can get out of them. My main system is homebuilt, and it's really churning out the work. [commercial]CUDA is a huge help, and I recommend anyone who wants to increase their SETI throughput to install a CUDA-capable nVidia board, if possible.[/commercial]
