Profile: Javier Segura

Personal background
1. Why do you run SETI@home?
I have always been fascinated by the possibility of intelligent life on other planets and would like to do what I can to help the cause.
2. What are your views about the project?
The concept of a network of private users sharing computers to accomplish a task is genius.
3. Any suggestions?
I would like to see the certificates look a little more traditional/official.
I would like to see a section where SETI@HOME posts their computing needs, optimal hardware requirements for volunteers and possibly a dollar amount needed for specific projects. If people know what specific projects they are donating too they may choose to give a little more. For example:
Project 1 - Need $5,000.00 to upgrade hardware on 2 servers.
Project 2 - Need $8,000.00 for certifications and research.

SETI@HOME may already have this in place, however, I am fairly knew and haven't come across it.
