Personal background
I am owner of a consulting company that offers computer, logistic, and business services/support. Being self employed, I find myself working at odd hours and thus leaving my free time at various points in the day and week. It is at these times that I find myself more often watching documentaries and doing research on many issue of interest. Lately this has been in the area of astronomy, and this is how I found first the SETI web site, and later the SETI@home project.

I started the project on the oldest system in my shop, but later activated on all four systems that run most of the time. (as a side note, I found this program to be very useful in testing systems. It can run all night and thus prove the system's reliability.)

Answers to the normal questions: Yes, there must be life out there somewhere. Yes, I think we will find, but probably not in my life time. Yes I think we will move ahead in space travel, and will be able to travel at or near the speed of light, but again, probably not in my life time.

My questions: Would any other planet with life on it 'want' to come here? If the first the 'hear' of us is an "I Love Lucy" program broadcasted 50 years ago, what will they think of us? What is the meaning of life, and why does it have to have a meaning? Why do we use more paper now that we have computers that do away with the need for paper? Why is the logo for Yellow Freight orange?

I guess some questions are harder than others...
