Personal background
Im a 4th Year CompSCI university student running Seti on a Duron 1Ghz. I used to run the graphical version but Im trying out the command line one to see how it compares for speed.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I would like to see some optimizations I know that they dont want inconsistant results due to things such as different rounding but things like MMX are almost Universal these days (well in the CISC world anyway). That being said if the Seti data doesnt use much integer processing there may not be any point.
