Personal background
I am 28 and live happily with my wife in Melbourne, Australia. I suppose I would call myself an Artist, but I do spend a lot of time working what I call money jobs. Science is sort of a hobby and I do use a science theme when I get time to paint. I am also a volunteer at Scienceworks, which is Melbourne's Science & Technology Museum. My other interest is environmental conservation and I am looking into study related to this. If we do find another civilisation I think it is important to show them that we have kept our backyard clean!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Considering the vastness of the Universe it seems to me that there has to be life elsewhere. Whether we recognise it when we come across it is a big question. I live with the hope of still being here when some sort of contact is made. If a life is discovered 'out there' I think it would help us feel not so alone and I am sure that it would bring the world community closer together as we as a species would have to agree on what we try to communicate to our neighbours. I run SETI@home because I feel it is an exciting project. Since I was a small boy I have always looked up at night hoping to see a sign of something. SETI is the most realistic way to keep the dream going, please keep up the search.
