Profile: Steven Greco

Personal background
I am a 40-something guy from Northern Virginia, United States. I have an enduring interest in astronomy that started when I was about 10 years old, thanks to my grandmother, who gave me a 40mm telescope for my birthday. I've been the newsletter editor of the San Antonio Astronomical Association in Texas and enjoyed the fellowship of observing with like-minded people. My pride and joy (next to my family, of course!) is an 8-inch Cave Astrola Newtonian reflector that I bought in 1973. I haven't had as much time lately as I would like to observe, but enjoy contributing to this SETI effort.

I run SETI@Home nearly 24 hours a day on a P4 2.4 GHz computer, which averages about 4.5 hours per work unit.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I absolutely think that life exists "out there." It is inconceivable to me that we could be the only life, sentient or otherwise, in the entire universe.

I run SETI@home to contribute in a small way to a very noble effort.
