Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have always looked up at the sky and seen more than just pin pricks of light, but I see stars for other solar systems. As Carl Sagan has said, along with manu other, "If we are alone, that ia a lot of wasted space."

I think we should look for other life forms throughout the universe, but we do not need to create a beacon for that. We have been sending signals into space for almost 50 years, which all act as beacons. I think the time of alien confirmation will destroy some areas of the world, specificaly religious ones where complete beleife systems have been destroyed. However, if the aliens are not friendly, like many of us hope, it may be enough to bring most of humanity together against the common cause and eradicate the tension in middle east. We will just have to wait and see.......
