Personal background
I am 20 years old and I live in Hungary, Budapest. I study English and Aesthetics at the ELTE University, since I find languages, arts and human culture extremely interesting. However, I also possess an insatiable curiosity for the world and the universe we live in. I started early: as a six-year-old, I often demanded to be told "tales" about the beginning of the universe, black holes and atoms; these things amazed me and amaze me still.

Sadly, as I can't seem to be able to contribute to the research of space as an astronomer or theoretical physicist, mostly due to my incapability to perform well at mathematics. I have no choice but to be content participating this way.

As for extraterrestrial life, well I think all of us here believe of its existence, if only because of the vast number of planets in our galaxy. I am, however, a little sceptical about discovering it this way (not that it stops me trying, obviously).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because it gives me a feeling of being involved in the research of space. Selfish, I know. :)
And who knows, maybe we get to discover something someday by chance. Maybe.
