Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I suppose I run SETI@home because I enjoy knowing that I can contribute to a much larger project. This is possible because currently the hardware I have has the extra processing power to spend. I may or may not be able to continue running the BOINC software, depending on personal projects.

I see the SETI@home project as an honest effort to learn about our surroundings via the examination of varying radio frequencies. Regardless whether we actually find anything within them, the important thing to remember is that the radio waves might be examined in a manner which helps us learn. So I regard the entire project as both useful and educational.

Normally I would have plenty of suggestions, however, this time I can not think of any. My chief complaint in terms of software is usually a lack of options provided to the end user. This is not the case with the BOINC software. If I had any suggestion at all, I suppose it would be that you make it easier to allow interested outside helpers join in the development and take a deeper role amongst SETI@home. This is of course if you want and/or need the additional help.
