Personal background
20 Years old, I am a Physics Major at the University of Lethbridge.

I am running Seti@home on 3 computers and using SetiQueue to "organize" my computers.
My computers are:

Intel P2 400 256Mb RAM 12Gig HD Win ME (IBM Aptiva)
Intel Celeron 500 64Mb RAM 6Gig HD Win ME (IBM Thinkpad)
and of course my baby:
AMD Athlon XP 2700 512Mb RAM 290Gig HD XP Pro (Homebuilt)

It's Kinda funny how my 2700 can do a work unit in 7-10 hours and it takes about 80 hours on my thinkpad and about 120 hours on my Aptiva.

Looks like Moores Law does have some truths. (Computing power doubles every 18 months, stated by Gordon Moore, co-founder of intel)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I think that extraterrestrial life does exist, but I don't think that we are going to discover intelligent life any time soon.

2. I don't think it would hurt.

3. I run it because It's a neat idea. I am supportive of the project and the fact that the whole world has the chance to help out.
