I'm a college student in New Mexico. I love the unobtrusiveness of the BOINC projects. Now I feel like I’m doing something worthwhile whenever my computer is on, even if the term paper I’m working on is not the thing in question. In the interest of world progress, I am attempting to talk others into donating spare computer cycles to this most worthy cause. So far: 1 convert. This probably reflects more on my skill at casual argument than the virtue of the program.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I hope there is intelligence out there, and I hope it can do my calculus homework.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
