Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1 & 2. Regardless of your views on extraterestial life, you have to look! The shared computing resources for idle computer time are a fantastic way not only to complete the SETI mission, but to advance the science of network computing. I love the way BOINC/SETI encourages participation with feedback gadgets like on Google Gadgets and cell phone pages!

3. Suggestions for improvement would be a way for people with multiple PCs registered to compare some sort of benchmark computing power. Maybe even assimilate into some sort of global benchmark.
And of course, seeing results of some kind would be nice: even though nothing has been found yet, what does a "suspicious" signal look like? Could you have an option of downloading a "positive hit" project just to see how it displays on the graphics? Have their been any signals flagged and forwarded for 2nd looks? Probably so. At least show stats on that.
There was a very cool exhibit at the Martinsville Museum of Natural History (Va) that got us interested in this project. One display had a series of signals you could look & listen to, then decided, "Natural or intelligent?" Links to that sort of educational material would be very nice. It furthers the goals of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education (STEM)!
Finally, thank you for encouraging the public to participate in the project!
